Skills for Students
Self-Leadership
Understanding behaviour for personal growth
This engaging workshop helps your students to become more self-aware, improve their ability to communicate and create a positive impact when working with others. The workshop is a great way to develop understanding, build confidence and prepare students for their future steps. We include a wide range of learning activities and group discussions to bring the workshop to life!
It revolves around 3 main areas:
1) Developing Self-Awareness & Awareness of Others
We use the PRISM questionnaire tool to help your students to explore their behaviour preferences and learn how to engage with other people more successfully.
They will gain an understanding of the impact that they have on others and learn ways to understand another person's perspective, which can assist in helping to resolve conflicts and build more positive relationships.
They'll explore their own individual printed behaviour map and receive a full report and access to the interactive PRISM iMap system to reflect upon further.
Once students have a greater awareness of themselves, they can use this knowledge to share their strengths on University applications and at future job interviews. Read more about PRISM below.
2) Improving Communication Skills
The workshop spends time focusing upon the development of flexible communication.
We help your students to discover ways to use their verbal and non-verbal skills more effectively, as well as improving their listening and questioning abilities.
3) Managing Emotions
The ability to understand and manage emotions is important for learning how to react to situations and everyone can develop the skill of responding well. We help your students to become more emotionally aware, gain knowledge of what happens in the brain when we become stressed and explore methods to keep calm when emotions run high.
This workshop will help your students to answer questions such as:
-
How can I understand myself better?
-
What are my preferred styles of behaviour?
-
Is my behaviour fixed or can it change throughout my life?
-
How can I communicate more effectively with others?
-
How can I build more effective relationships with other people?
-
What's my impact on others?
-
What future jobs might I enjoy and be more successful in?
-
How can I manage my emotions to be more successful?

The workshop features the PRISM questionnaire, a neuroscience-based development tool that is currently used by some of the world’s leading organisations for staff development.
We've been using PRISM with students for a number of years now and it provides an engaging way to explore behaviour.
PRISM helps students to understand how they prefer to behave, how to recognise and respond to other people and how behaviour can change throughout their life due to neuroplasticity.
An online questionnaire is completed before the workshop, which results in an individual PRISM Map and PDF report.
Students can also access the interactive iMap online platform on their phone, tablet or computer to explore behaviours further.
Below is a sample PRISM report as seen via iMap. Feel free to explore it as it's interactive!
