Skills for Students
Presentation Skills
Helping students plan, prepare & deliver
During school, college or university, students are often asked to give an oral presentation to their peers, whether as part of an assessment for a module, as a group presentation in a seminar, or during an interview. Effective presentations require as much thought, planning and research as written essays, even though their purpose, style and audience are often different.
Knowledge of a subject area is important, however they must also know how to plan and deliver their message effectively. Employers are also seeking team members who can deliver presentations in a confident way and it's an essential skill to develop for future success.
For many students, delivering a presentation can be a nerve-wracking experience, but it doesn't have to be.
Our presentation skills training programmes will help your students to become more confident with their public speaking skills in a range of environments. We include opportunities to practice and gain feedback, as you can't effectively learn how to present without presenting!
This workshop will help your students to answer questions such as:
-
How can I engage my audience?
-
What content should I include and how should I plan it?
-
How can I be more confident when presenting?
-
What can I do to stay calm when talking?
-
What supporting materials should I use?
-
How can I handle questions from the audience?
